This image is a digital abstract based on a series of photographs of a pottery plate made by my amazing wife, Peggy. I have been photographing Peggy's pottery for several years. One plate in particular caught my eye, so I decided to see what would happen if I composited and masked five different shots of the one plate. The result is "Fusion 1", the first of a number of digital abstracts based on this technique. One afternoon in October, I became fascinated by several barns near Horseshoe Valley, Ontario. I decided to create my own "barn" by slicing pieces of two barns together photographically. The result is "Two Barns In Autumn", the first in a series of my constructed photo-based barns. One morning in September, while driving along a concession road in East Gwillimbury, Ontario, I was fortunate enough to have my camera with me when I saw this most beautiful sunrise. To create this image, I started with a studio portrait then applied a number of transformations in Photoshop. Emily is a flower child. I hope this photographic sketch captures the mood and spirit of Emily. One gloomy morning in February, I was driving along the north shore of Saltspring Island, British Columbia, when I noticed in my rear-view mirror this leaning tree. Was I lucky I didn't miss this turn? Vegas the Cat finds enlightenment and is caught in the rapture. I saw these dancers performing their ritualistic sunrise ceremony within the flickering light and melting wax of a coffee table candle. This macro photo, with some colour manipulations, reveals hidden features in a most unexpected place. What sport requires such a helmet? One evening in January, I took a time exposure of my backyard under the light of a setting full moon. This image is an enlargement of a small cropped area of the original photo revealing the aged tree branches, like supplicant arms.
